Children, ages 7 and 9, hurt in separate shootings
The shootings happened in Chester and Southwest Philadelphia.

A 7-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy were hit by gunfire Friday in Chester and Philadelphia, police said.
Shortly after 3:30 p.m., police responding to the 400 block of Highland Avenue Chester found the girl with a bullet wound to her leg and a man struck in the left arm and lower waist area.
The girl was taken to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and was listed in good condition. Police did not say where the man was treated but said he was in good condition. Police reported no arrests.
Just after 9:35 p.m., a 9-year-old boy was shot in the left arm while playing outside in the 5200 block of Upland Street in the city’s Kingsessing section. He was taken by police to Children’s Hospital and was reported in stable condition.
No arrest was reported in that case.
