Kensington neighborhood fends for itself after the snow

Snow slid off cars' hoods into the narrow streets of Kensington. Residents shoveled their sidewalks in pajamas, piling the snow into man-size mounds along the roads. Cars crept along the ice, and pedestrians tiptoed through slush.
