Racist, anti-Semitic scrawls found on bathroom walls of N.J. private school
Authorities say anti-Semitic and anti-black writing was found at a private New Jersey high school that counts Anthony Bourdain and Brooke Shields as graduates.
ENGLEWOOD, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say anti-Semitic and antiblack writing was found at a private New Jersey high school that counts Anthony Bourdain and Brooke Shields as two of its graduates.
The North Jersey Record reports the scrawls were found Wednesday in bathrooms at Dwight-Englewood School in Englewood, about 17 miles outside New York City.
Englewood Deputy Chief of Police Gregory Halstead said Thursday that two of the messages were discovered after an assembly was convened to discuss the first message that was found.
Officials said there is no threat to the school but there is increased security.
Halstead would not say what the messages said.
Dwight-Englewood School is a prep school that teaches students from prekindergarten to 12th grade.
