Two men killed in separate city shootings

Gunfire erupted just after 3:30 p.m. in North Philadelphia and just before 5 in Frankford.

Two men were killed and a third critically injured in separate city shootings Friday afternoon in the city, police said.

The first happened just after 3:30 p.m. in North Philadelphia. Two men were inside a maroon Acura in the 3000 block of North Broad Street when the shooting happened, police said. An unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene by medics. The second victim, a 25-year-old man with several gunshot wounds throughout his body, was taken by police to Temple University Hospital. He was listed in critical condition.

Just before 5 p.m., a 36-year-old man was in the 1600 block of Orthodox Street in Frankford when he was shot once in the neck and twice in the chest. Medics took him to Temple, where he was pronounced dead at 6:22.

No other details were available in either case.
