Woman, teenage boy killed in separate shootings: in the Northeast and in Southwest Philly

A teen boy also was killed in a shooting Friday night in Southwest Philly.

A 24-year-old woman sitting in her car was fatally wounded in a shooting Friday evening in Northeast Philadelphia, police said.

Later in the evening, a 17-year-old boy was killed in a shooting in Southwest Philadelphia.

The woman was in a parked Toyota Corolla when she was shot several times shortly before 6 p.m. while in the 8800 block of Frankford Avenue. Medics took her to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 6:27. Her name was not released.

Police reported no arrests, and no other details were available.

Just before 8 p.m., the teenage boy was outside in the 5800 block of Kingsessing Avenue when he was shot in the chest. He was taken by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he died at 8:26. His name also was not released.

Police hand no arrests in that case as well, and did not release further information.
