Off-duty Philly deputy shot during Yeadon robbery

An off-duty Philadelphia Sheriff’s deputy was hospitalized in stable condition after being shot during a robbery Tuesday night in Delaware County, police said.

The deputy, described as in his mid-30s, was shot in the back while he was in the 1300 block of Alfred Avenue in Yeadon sometime before 10 p.m.

He was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

Police said as many as two suspects were being sought. No other details were immediately available.
