Police shoot man allegedly armed with box cutter in Olney

A police officer shot a man allegedly armed with a box cutter Tuesday afternoon in Philadelphia’s Olney section, police said.

Around 4 p.m., the officer shot the man once in the leg in the 5400 block of North Sixth Street. A medic unit took the man to Einstein Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

Police said they recovered the box cutter.
