An unintentional light show in Center City

Though the intent was safety, the closure of Center City streets by police and the rains of Hurricane Zeta produced a nighttime light show on rain slick city streets on Oct. 29, 2020. Police kept 8th to 20th Streets and Vine to Walnut Streets closed to most vehicular traffic. The move was caused by the unrest sparked by the fatal shooting of Walter Wallace, Jr. by police earlier in the week.

Police kept many of the Center City streets blocked to traffic from 8th to 20th Streets and Vine to Walnut Streets on Oct. 29, 2020. A pedestrian makes their way towards a deserted Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
