A Temple student was chased and attacked inside Morgan Hall student residence
The Temple University student suffered minor injuries after being chased and assaulted inside a dormitory.

A Temple University student was chased into the lobby of the school’s Morgan Hall student dormitory and attacked by a group of juveniles on Sunday morning, according to Temple University police.
The 20-year-old student, who has not been identified, was outside Morgan Hall South, located at North Broad Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue, at around 2:50 a.m., Philadelphia police said. The student was chased into the lobby by 10 to 13 people police described as juveniles.
The juveniles struck the student and damaged university property, Temple police said. No arrests have been made. Temple police has released photos captured from surveillance footage of the incident, showing a group of male young people walking down the sidewalk with some of their faces visible.
The student suffered minor injuries and declined medical treatment, but Temple’s Division of Student Affairs is working to support the student, according to police.
“Incidents like this are a relative rarity, especially on campus, but people need to be wary of their surroundings and take precautions,” Temple Police Chief Gaetano Sava said.
Temple University police are reviewing security video and working with the School District of Philadelphia safety officials and the Philadelphia Police Department to identify the group involved in the assault.
Temple Police shared reminders to social media that Temple offers a walking escort program, shuttle service, and additional safety features in the TUSafe app.
“Your safety is our top priority. We will continue to keep you informed as more information becomes available,” Temple police shared in a social media post.
Temple and Philadelphia police are urging anyone with information on the assault to contact the Philadelphia police tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or Central Detectives at 215-686-3093.
