Man critical after after pouring gasoline on backyard fire pit in Fox Chase
The explosion occurred just after 7:10 p.m. in the 500 block of Solly Avenue.
A 38-year-old man was hospitalized in critical but stable condition Friday night after he poured gasoline on a backyard fire pit and caused an explosion in the city’s Fox Chase section, police said.
Just after 7:10 p.m. in the 500 block of Solly Avenue, the man was lighting a fire pit and then tried to pour gas on the pit when the gas can he was holding exploded, police said. He was taken by medics to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital. Police reported no other injuries.
