Truth be told

Thank you for writing about Kimberly Burrell and the dishonest use of her image and words in the latest pro-Trump television ad paid for by Restoration PAC. Burrell’s courage and commitment to denouncing the unauthorized and deceitful twisting of an unrelated interview is to be applauded. I am so glad this has been made public. I hope there are legal advocates in the community who can assist her in stopping this purposeful misuse. I have been informing everyone I know about this deceit, and I hope many local papers and television stations will assist in bringing this to the public’s attention. There must be a point where there is a consequence for shameful manipulation and lies.

Trump’s threats

Correct me if I’m wrong, but if I make a loud and public verbal threat against a candidate for president, the FBI will be knocking on my door. How is it that Donald Trump can make a loud and public threat to use the National Guard and/or the military to “deal with” Kamala Harris and suffer no consequences? Has this country caved into him? What have we become? I am outraged. Wake up, America.

. . .

The misinformation being instigated by former President Donald Trump is becoming increasingly dangerous. The Federal Emergency Management Agency had to temporarily pause hurricane relief aid in North Carolina over the weekend due to threats. On Sunday, Trump suggested using the National Guard on Election Day against “radical left lunatics.” He is placing election officials at serious risk with his threats of prosecution for just doing their jobs. Trump has created a dangerous situation and is causing distress among immigrants all over the country due to his hateful, false rhetoric. You have to wonder what Trump will do after the election, win or lose, considering his already failed attempts at election interference in 2020. Americans don’t need this level of chaos and should act accordingly on Election Day.

Do better

A show on TV this morning had a discussion wondering how people with mental health issues keep getting assault weapons. A much more serious concern should be how someone with mental health issues could gain access to our nuclear codes. There is an old saying: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Does the acronym MAGA stand for Make America Gullible Again?
