The Phillies reach an agreement on an MLB contract for utility infielder Dylan Moore
The 2024 Gold Glove right-hander is hitting .219 with six RBIs and two stolen bases in 15 games this spring

CLEARWATER, Fla. — The Phillies have added a former Gold Glove utility infielder to their bench.
The Phillies have reached an agreement on a major league deal with Dylan Moore, a league source confirmed on Saturday. Moore, 33, had triggered his opt-out clause on Thursday, giving the Phillies 48 hours to add him to their 40-man roster.
Phillies manager Rob Thomson noted that this spring, he wanted to prioritize utility for the final bench spot. The other three spots are expected to be taken by Edmundo Sosa, Otto Kemp, and a backup catcher who will either be Rafael Marchán or Garrett Stubbs.
Moore fits that bill, as he has played every position other than catcher. In 2024, he won the utility Gold Glove with the Seattle Mariners. This spring, the right-handed veteran is hitting .219 with six RBIs and two stolen bases in 15 games. He has a .206/.310/.383 career slash line.
“He’s a former Gold Glover,” Thomson said of Moore earlier in camp. “He’s a real pro, so he’ll be good in the clubhouse, and I know that they’re doing some things offensively to help him out. Came off a little bit of a down year last year, so we’re hoping there’s some stuff we can do to help him out.”
