With one of Providence's coaches on hand, Brandon Austin provided a glimpse of what the Friars can expect to see beginning in 2013-2014.

With Austin depositing 25 points, No. 4-ranked Imhotep Charter downed No. 5 St. Joseph's Prep, 61-56, Sunday in the Scholastic Play-By-Play Network FamJuice Tip-Off Classic at Philadelphia University.

Providence assistant Bob Simon watched as the 6-foot-6 senior guard netted 12 points in the first half and 13 in the second. From the charity stripe, he shot 9 for 12.

The Panthers (2-0) received 13 points from Basil Thompson, a 6-6 junior forward, and 12 from senior guard Daryl Bagwell. Thompson and Bagwell played at Roman Catholic and Northeast, respectively, last season.

Senior guard Steve Vasturia, a Notre Daeme commit, paced the Hawks with 26 points, six boards, four steals, and a blocked shot. He shot 3 for 10 from beyond the arc.

Next in line for the Prep (1-1) was senior guard and Wake Forest commit Miles Overton (10 points, two treys) and junior guard Kyle Thompson (eight points).

Imhotep overcame 13 turnovers, including five in the first quarter. Austin added four steals and three rebounds.

Down by 23-19 in the second quarter, the Prep finished the first half with a 15-2 spurt and was ahead by nine at the break.

The Panthers opened the third quarter with a 16-3 run, taking a 41-37 advantage.
