Softball: District 1 tournament pairings
Neshaminy, which won the Suburban One League National Conference title, is the top seed in the PIAA District 1 Class AAAA softball tournament. Seedings were announced Thursday.
In addition to Neshaminy, No. 2 Hatboro-Horsham, No. 3 Pennsbury, No. 4 Central Bucks South, No. 5 Owen J. Roberts, No. 6 West Chester Henderson, No. 7 Central Bucks East, and No. 8 Downingtown East received first-round byes.
Games prior to the semifinal round will be played at the site of the higher seed. The top four finishers will advance to the state tournament.
In Class AAA, Radnor, of the Central League, heads a 10-team field. In Class AA, St. Basil, of the Athletic Association of Catholic Academies, is at the top of a four-team field.
The Class A bracket is expected to be finalized Friday.
