Casey named athletic director at Valley Forge

Rich Casey, a graduate of the old North Catholic, has been announced as the new athletic director at Valley Forge Military Academy and College.

Casey played basketball and baseball at North in the early 1980s. He was the head men's basketball coach at Neumann University and previously coached girls' basketball at Friends Select Middle School and was a boys' varsity assistant at Archbishop Ryan.

"Rich brings with him a wealth of experience and a commitment to supporting the broad-based athletic program found at Valley Forge," said Col. James J. Doyle, interim president at Valley Forge Military Academy and College. "Rich's diverse background in athletics and his proven dedication to student-athletes makes him the ideal person to lead our athletic program."

Casey, who graduated from Temple in 1988, lives in Philadelphia with his wife, Caroline, and their two daughters, Gwenyth and Darby.
