Here are a bunch of great stats about the 2013 season, courtesy of South Jersey sports historian Chuck Langerman:

1. Going into the 2013 season, there had never been more than three 2,000-yard passers in any one season.  This year six quarterbacks eclipsed the 2,000-yard plateau----Timber Creek's Dan Williams, Eastern's Tom Flacco, Pennsville's Dylan Cummings, St. Augustine's Jose Tabora, Paul VI's Alex Vignola, and Lindenwold junior Malik Muldrow.  Also, for the first time since 2010, South Jersey didn't have a 2,000-yard rusher.

2. No team from the seven-county South Jersey area had a perfect record this season (no losses, no ties). In the last 70 years, that has only happened three times before.  In 1945, 1973, and most recently in 2009.

3. With 2,090 passing yards this season, Lindenwold junior quarterback Malik Muldrow became only the third quarterback in the rich history of the Colonial Conference to throw for over 2,000 yards in a season.  The other two quarterbacks both hail from Audubon----Steve Rizzo with 2,052 yards in 2007 and Joe Flacco with 2,016 yards in 2002. With 4,300 career passing yards, Malik will have a shot next season at breaking Joe Flacco's Colonial Conference career passing record of 5,101 yards.

4. With one field goal and five PATs against Eastern Friday night, Cherokee's Kenny Ravel raised his season total to 90 kicking points, breaking the state record of 87 kicking points set by Sparta High's John Coleman this season.  Then on Saturday in the North Jersey Section 1, Group 3 final Sparta shutout River Dell, 40-0, with John Coleman kicking only two extra points to boost his total to 89 kicking points. Therefore,  Kenny Ravel is still the state record-holder with 90 kicking points in a season.

5. Pennsville's Dylan Cummings accounted for 126 touchdowns in his career, passing for 84 and running for 42.  The South Jersey and state mark is 143 touchdowns set by Paulsboro's Kevin Harvey in 1995.  Harvey threw for 42 touchdowns and ran for 101. This past season, Cummings threw for 31 TDs and rushed for 24, making him the first quarterback in state history to throw for over 30 touchdowns and rush for over 20 TDs in the same season.

6. Dylan Cummings is the only South Jersey quarterback to throw for over 30 touchdowns twice.  In 2011 he threw for 35 TDs and passed for 31 this season.  Also, with 498 career completions, Cummings broke the area record of 482 set in 1991 by Cherry Hill East's Kevin Foley.

7. Delsea High School, which started playing football in 1960, just finished up its 54th season.  In that time period the Crusaders have only had two head coaches----John Oberg and Sal Marchese, Jr.  Delsea has won overall 395 games with Oberg having 230 victories and Marchese with 165 wins.

8. With 62 receptions this season, St. Augustine receiver Austin Francisco broke the 25-year old Cape Atlantic League record of Holy Spirit's Kevin Hallman who caught 61 passes in 1988.  The 1988 Holy Spirit team is considered by many to be one of the top teams in South Jersey history.  Current St. Augustine coach Mark Reardon was a defensive stalwart on that 10-0 Holy Spirit powerhouse.

9. Speaking of St. Augustine, the Hermits pulled off a rare statistical triple this season.  They had a 2,000 yard passer in Jose Tabora (2,084 yards), a 1,000-yard rusher in Lamont Harris (1,768 yards), and a 1,000-yard receiver in Austin Francisco (1,049 yards).  The last time that happened in South Jersey was eight years ago in 2005 when Absegami accomplished it.  That season Absegami quarterback Mike Isgro threw for 2,492 yards, running back Steve Hevalow rushed for 1,284 yards, and wide receiver Mark Schenauer had 1,045 receiving yards.

10. For the first time in its history, the Lenape Regional High School District has two sectional champions in the same season with Cherokee winning Group 5 and Shawnee capturing the Group 4 title.

11. Timber Creek receivers Adonis Jennings and Cameron Chambers, who were former teammates on the Winslow Township Maullers Youth Football team in Sicklerville, both had over 1,000 yards receiving this season.  That is only the third time in area history that two receivers on the same team both had over 1,000 receiving yards.  It happened in 1999 with Holy Cross receivers Isaac Irby (1,254 yards) and Matt Chambers (1,123 yards), and also in 2011 with Pennsville's Colton Newsome (1,026 yards) and Ryan Hawthorne (1,010 yards).

12. Kingsway's Ray Lawry scored 28 touchdowns and captured the South Jersey individual scoring championship. The last Kingsway player to win the scoring championship was Walt Lerch  in 1954.  Lerch scored 96 points on 16 touchdowns 59 years ago when Kingsway was known as Swedesboro High School.

13. West Deptford led South Jersey in team scoring with 46.2 points-per-game which is the fifth-highest team scoring average in area history. St. Joseph Hammonton scored the most points with 510 points in a 12-game season for a 42.5 ppg. average.

14. Haddonfield's South Jersey Group 2 title win over Woodstown was the program's 552nd win.  Haddonfield started playing football 120 years ago in 1893.  They are sixth in South Jersey and tenth in the state in all-time wins.

15. St. Joseph Hammonton (11-1) played its first 12-game season in its history.

16. Timber Creek's Cameron Chambers became the first sophomore in state history to generate more than 1,000 receiving yards. Chambers finished with 57 catches for 1,196 yards with 12 TDs.
