Football: C.R. North's Guzy pledges to Western Michigan

Council Rock North junior defensive end Connor Guzy has committed to Western Michigan after visiting the school last weekend.

"I loved the campus, the coaches, the whole environment," said the 6-foot-3, 250-pounder, also a long snapper and tight end for the Indians. "I think the football program is on the rise."

Guzy, who was a second-team all-Suburban One League National Conference selection on defense last season, also took unofficial visits to Pittsburgh and Rutgers.

The 18-year-old from Newtown, Bucks County, is Western Michigan's sixth commit in the Class of 2015. He is projected to play defensive end for the Broncos, who compete in the Mid-American Conference.
