Baseball: SA vs. GC highlights event at Millville

A matchup between No. 2 St. Augustine and No. 4 Gloucester Catholic highlights this weekend's seven-game, two-day Coaches vs. Cancer baseball showcase at Millville.

There will be four games Saturday and three games Sunday at Mike Trout Field -- with the battle between the Hermits and Rams serving as the finale at 4 p.m. on Sunday.

That game could feature a clash of two of South Jersey's top pitchers in St. Augustine senior RHP Joey Gatto and GC junior RHP John Murphy (pictured, center and left, with Bishop Eustace senior LHP Devin Smeltzer on the right).

Murphy threw Monday in an 11-0 win over Glassboro. He's 2-0 with a 0.64 ERA with 37 Ks and 9 BBs in 22 IP.

Gatto pitched Tuesday in an 11-1 win over Lake Catholic of Mentor, Ohio, in South Carolina.
