Flyers recall Andrew MacDonald; Jake Voracek won't be on top line (yet)

It took injuries to Mark Streit and Luke Schenn, along with a suspension to Radko Gudas, for the Flyers to recall high-priced defenseman Andrew MacDonald from the Phantoms on Monday.

It took injuries to Mark Streit and Luke Schenn, along with a suspension to Radko Gudas, for the Flyers to recall high-priced defenseman Andrew MacDonald from the Phantoms on Monday.

MacDonald will play Tuesday again the visiting Islanders, his former team.

Here were the Flyers' pairings at Monday's practice in Voorhees: MacDonald and Michael Del Zotto; Shayne Gostisbehere and Brandon Manning; Evgeny Medvedev and Nick Schultz.

MacDonald led Lehigh Valley D-men with 13 points in 23 AHL games this season.

Jake Voracek was back on the top line, with Claude Giroux and Michael Raffl. Braydon Schenn slipped down to the third line. After practice, however, coach Dave Hakstol said he was just experimenting and that Voracek would begin Tuesday's game on the third line, with Chris VandeVelde and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare.

Do not be surprised if Voracek is reunited with Giroux at some point in Tuesday's game.
