Yesterday, that claim was put to the test. The claim failed. Miserably.
I was curious whether yesterday's construction accident at Temple University's campus happened on a union's clock or not, since the mainstream media has not yet reported that fact. So I reached out to Raymond Betzner, Temple's Assistant Vice President for University Communications. Betzner told me this morning that "All of our projects are union projects." When asked, though, he was unable to identify which union was working on that project. That will soon come out.
Funny, only three weeks ago, I debated Pat Gillespie, the business manager of the Philadelphia Building and Construction Trades Council, on, among other things, whether he could prove that union led construction projects were any safer than non-union ones.
See what Gillespie and I and host Dom Giordano had to say on this very important question in this video.
