Great sports news -- just not here
Lester pitches no-hitter.
There's great news in the world of sports. The bad news is that you have to drive a couple of hundred miles up I-95, away from No-Titletown USA, to find it in the living personage of Jon Lester --- cancer survivor, World Series clincher, and now author of the first and only no-hitter of the 2008 season. Coming soon to a theatre near you -- and no doubt pushing that Chris Coste biopic back a couple of years.
Meanwhile, Philadelphia remains a kind of depressing locale as the 100-season title drought (but maybe 98) begins to sink in.
Has anyone noticed that Season 101 (maybe 99) is not going too well?
