It could be a boring summer here in Philadelphia -- for reasons we're not used to. The Phillies are just too good -- challenging the Red Sox, Angels and Cubs (?) for best record in all of baseball -- and the rest of the NL East looks surprisingly weak or injury prone or both.

The bullpen is fantastic, the lineup is hitting like it's supposed to, and the starting pitchers are OK and seem to be getting stronger. But I hope they face some real challenges and even adversity between now and Oct. 1 -- I'd hate to think this is all a set-up for another 3-and-out job in the fall.
