DIY Rose Face Mask
Face masks are a great way to combat dry winter skin. There are so many do-it-yourself recipes with ingredients you already have at home. They make a great gift, or can be used to pamper yourself!
Here's a cute idea for Valentine's Day, when you might have some rose petals around the house.
Roses have many beauty benefits. They have an aromatic, natural fragrance. They can help reduce redness on the skin and soothe rosacea and eczema. They help treat acne-prone skin. Roses contain vitamin C, which can protect skin cells from sun damage. They help lock moisture into the skin, leaving it smooth.
For the DIY Rose Face Mask:
4 tablespoons whole milk
1 teaspoon rose oil (or try almond oil)
4 rose petals
2 teaspoons coconut oil
2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
Crush rose petals in a bowl, add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Spread on the face and leave for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse off. If you have any left over, put it in a jar and store it in the refrigerator.
I tried this cooling mask last week, and it left my skin feeling supple, soft and hydrated. Not to mention, it smelled like roses and coconut, which I love.
