Paul Labrecque does hair at The Rittenhouse Spa & Club, but since he lives in New York, he's only here once a month. Recently, he invited me to have my hair styled at the Rittenhouse. I've been to many fancy salons and usually don't go back.
This time was different.
He quickly decided I needed to have my roots covered, a trim (I'd recently had my hair cut) and a one-of-a-kind blowout. I am not this trusting when it comes to new hair stylists, but I was feeling adventurous!
He gave me a cut I would have never thought of, angled toward the front and with some shorter layers for more volume and bounce. To make my hair shiny and silky smooth, he added some Color Finish Polish & Seal Droplets from his own hair brand, Paul Labrecque.
He used a technique when blow drying my hair that I had never seen before. He used a round hair brush to dry a section and then he would twist it and let the brush sit on my head so the curl would set. l had several brushes on my head at all times as he continued drying my hair. When he let my hair loose it looked flowy, as if he used a curling wand.
It was unbelievable and quick, too (I have a ton of hair).
The experience was relaxing and I enjoyed talking with Paul. He's so funny, and he does a lot of charity work to help those in need, including helping women in abusive relationships through the Sanctuary House for Families.
Now I'm looking forward to visiting Paul Labrecque Salon & Spa, in New York, one of my favorite cities!
