Beautiful You: Why you should shave your face
It’s not exactly what you think — using shaving cream and a razor as you would to shave your legs or underarms.
It's not exactly what you think — using shaving cream and a razor as you would to shave your legs or underarms.
I first learned about face shaving from Youtube beauty videos. Dermaplaning — using a straight-edge-type facial razor — is great for getting rid of peach fuzz and exfoliating. Your skin will look younger, and facial scars will be less obvious. Facial creams and makeup will go on more smoothly, too.
How to do it?
Make sure skin is cleansed and dry before shaving to prevent breakouts. (Ingrown hairs can be an issue for women with medium to darker complexions.) Hold skin taut and hold the razor flat to skin as you shave very gently, and with very little pressure.
It's very easy to do. You can clean up any areas you feel like you need — around the hairline, sideburns or jawline.
Make sure you shave dry. Don't use the kind of razor you would on face or legs.
