SIOUX CITY, Iowa - Former Sen. Rick Santorum's presidential campaign hit 60,000 mailboxes in Iowa Friday with a glossy advert that touts his record as a social conservative and quotes praise from movement icons such as Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee.
"America surrender? Not on my watch!" the mail piece reads on one side. "A number of Republican leaders have A number of Republican leaders have suggested that the best way to win back the White House is to call a truce on talking about social issues," Santorum writes. "In my book that's not a truce ... it's a surrender! The day we stop fighting for the unborn child, or fighting to protect the sanctity of marriage, expel God from public or decide we will no longer enforce the laws of our land, is the day we surrender all our founding fathers created."
On the flip side, Santorum's legislative accomplishments are listed, inlcuding authorship of welfare reform and the fight for a partial-birth abortion ban.
Among the blurbs praising him is one from Glenn Beck, who calls Santorum "the next George Washington."
