Single Digits

A half-dozen quick stats that caught our attention recently ...

♦ The Phillies and the Rangers each scored two runs on Thursday. For each it was the 39th game of the season they had scored fewer than three. Only the Padres with 51 have had more. San Diego, by the way, put up 13 later that night.

Cole Hamels' current ERA (2.72) would be a career-best for a full season.

♦ Phils are 3-7 in last 10 ... If they do that six times over the last 60 games, they will have 100 losses for the first time since 1961

♦ Eight of the nine Giants starters Wednesday had a higher slugging percentage than Ryan Howard (.377), including San Francisco's starting pitcher.

♦ Only 25 players (of 90) that were invited to Andy Reid's final training camp (2012) will be at Chip Kelly's second camp (2014).

Nick Foles threw his only two interceptions last season in back-to-back games. In between (covering a little over five quarters), he was 24-for-39 (61.5%) for 356 yards and one touchdown.
