♦ So Michael Carter-Williams becomes the second 76er (joining Allen Iverson) to win the Rookie of the Year Award, but did you know there were five other players that were named ROY for other franchise and came to play for the Sixers later in their career. They were Wilt Chamberlain (1959), Terry Cummings (1983), Derrick Coleman (1991), Chris Webber (1994) and Elton Brand (2000).
♦ One of the 124 voters for the ROY Award somehow thought MCW was not even the third-best rookie in the league.
♦ The Phillies have scored 44 runs in 14 home games ... and 74 runs in 16 road games.
♦ Assuming he has recovered from the flu, Cole Hamels Tuesday will make his fifth attempt at earning career win No. 100. The Phillies are 0-4 in his first four attempts.
♦ Almost as rare as a Freddy Galvis base hit is a Clearwater victory, but both happended Monday. Galvis (2-for-36) upped his batting average to .056; the Threshers (6-22) moved their winning percentage to .214.
♦ Lehigh Valley, the Phillies' top minor league club, scored seven runs before recording two outs Monday ... but managed to lose to Charlotte, 9-8.
