Commonwealth Court candidates pop up in Doylestown

Democrat Kathryn Boockvar of Doylestown launched a statewide tour, while Republican Anne Covey of Upper Makefield made her case to be elected on Tuesday.

Kathryn Boockvar, the Democratic candidate for Commonwealth Court, kicked off her Get Out The Vote tour in Doylestown on Thursday morning, joined by former Congressmen Patrick Murphy and Joe Sestak.

"In the next five days, we'll do everything we can to get out the vote," the Doylestown resident told about a dozen supporters. "We'll make connections with people and tell them why it matters" to vote.

After Doylestown, the lawyer headed to Tunkhannock and Wilkes-Barre. On Friday, she is scheduled to visit Altoona and Pittsburgh, and Saturday she'll be off to Harrisburg and York. Sunday and Monday, she might be in Philadelphia and the suburbs, her staff said.

An hour after Boockvar's remarks outside the Democratic Party headquarters, her opponent, Anne Covey of Upper Makefield, recited her quaifications and goals at a press conference outside Republican headquarters. The lawyer was joined by Superior Court candidate Vic Stabile and candidates for county offices: Charles Martin and Rob Loughery, commissioner; William Snyder, treasurer; Mary Smithson, clerk of courts; and Donald Petrille, register of wills.
