Fire that killed Bucks County lawyer ruled accidental

Fire that killed lawyer Holly Fusco was accidental, police say

A Bucks County house fire that killed a veteran lawyer June 13 has been ruled accidental, Lower Makefield police said Tuesday.

Holly C. Fusco, 49, died of burns and smoke inhalation from a blaze that started in her bedroom, most likely from careless smoking or a candle, Police Sgt. Brian Omlor said. The determination was announced after a report was received from the state police fire marshal's office, Omlor said.

Fusco, who practiced mostly in New Jersey, represented a suspended Moorestown police officer who was scheduled for trial on sexual assault charges the day after she died. Colleagues speculated that Fusco had been up late preparing for the case when the fire began in the house she rented on Langhorne-Yardley Road in Lower Makefield.
