Fattah named vice chair of gun violence task force

WASHINGTON -- Philadelphia Congressman Chaka Fattah will be a vice chair on a gun violence prevention task force created by Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Fattah, a Democrat, will be one of 12 vice chairs working with California Congressman Mike Thompson, who is chairing the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force.

Fattah is a longtime advocate of tougher gun laws, and has publicly backed plans to ban assault weapons and high-capacity gun magazines and endorsed background checks on all gun sales - not just at licensed dealers.
