Students booked to celebrate award
In September, the staff and students at Pocopson Elementary School got a reason to celebrate: selection as one of the 304 National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2011.
On Friday morning, the staff and students will finally get a chance to party. In lieu of recognizing their blue-hued honor by painting the town red, students will decorate trees, enjoy breakfast treats, and pose for a group photo. To add even more color, a representative from the U.S. Department of Education is expected to arrive on a fire truck.
