West Goshen ranked among country's best small towns

Congratulations to West Goshen Township, which was selected as one of "America's Best Small Towns" by Money magazine in its September issue.

The 22,421-population township ranked No. 10 on Money's list, ahead of another Philadelphia suburb, Horsham, which was ranked No. 34. Sharon, Mass. took the top spot on the list.

The magazine praised West Goshen's "lush, suburban feel" and proximity to downtown West Chester -- as well as "an array of local employers" and "easy commutes" to Philadelphia and Wilmington.

West Goshen also boasts a very generous police chief -- your Chester County correspondent profiled Chief Joe Gleason a few months ago after he donated a kidney to a total stranger.
