This has been an eventful holiday break for Councilman Frank Rizzo who fractured his ankle after slipping on a patch of ice Christmas Eve.
Rizzo had surgery at Hahnemann Hospital Christmas Day to realign his left ankle. He got back home yesterday and will be in a cast for at least two weeks. But the Republican councilman says he'll be hard at work as he recuperates.
"I feel great. I was working in the hospital. I got a lot of work to do from patients I met in the hospital," Rizzo said. "Thank God it was during the break."
The next full Council session is scheduled for January 28.
