Mayor Nutter today appointed an official with the state Department of Public Welfare as the new commissioner of the Department of Human Services.
Anne Marie Ambrose currently serves as the director of the Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice Service at the DPW. Before that she spent five years as a deputy commissioner of DHS.
She'll start work June 23.
