Mayor Nutter this morning ceremonially signed his first budget into law before City Council.
Nutter signed the bills in Council chambers to applause from Council and his staff. The budget
features some spending increases and moderate tax reductions -- although slightly
» READ MORE: less in tax cuts than originally planned
. It has quickly moved through the approval process, which is common with a mayor's first budget.
"This is a most historic moment for us," Nutter said to Council. "This has been a tremendous opportunity for us to work together. This is an improved budget from where we started back in February."
