Schwartz lands Local 98 support, Wolf raises $12.85 million

How's this for timing?

Daily News columnist John Baer today reports on the efforts of Democratic candidates for governor in 2014 to lure union support.  Baer specifically noted that Local 98 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers plans to give U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz $100,000 tonight in a fundraiser where the union expects to raise another $100,000 for her campaign.

And here comes Tom Wolf, the former Secretary of Revenue under Gov. Rendell, who has already invested $10 million of his own money into his campaign.  Wolf, in a news release that arrived seven minutes after an IBEW news release was sent to reporters, announced that he has also raised $2.85 million in 2013 as of Dec. 11.

Coincidence?  Sure that's possible.  We'll see if the other six candidates in the Democratic primary election decide to start talking today about fundraising.
