Tuesday's DN: Slumlord pleads guilty to bilking banks

A Philadelphia slumlord admits in federal court that he bilked two banks out of $10 million.  Robert Coyle Sr. was the subject of a 2009 Daily News investigation.

Attorneys for a man fighting to avoid the death penalty want state Supreme Court Chief Justice Ron Castille to recuse himself because he was Philadelphia District Attorney when the man was convicted here.

We're five weeks out from the Nov. 6 general election and Kathleen Kane, the Democratic nominee for state Attorney General, seems to running as much against Gov. Corbett as she is the Republican in the race, Cumberland County District Attorney David Freed.
