Shaughnessy Naughton, a trained scientist who now runs her family's publishing business, filed a statement of candidacy with the Federal Elections Commission on May 1. Kevin Strouse, a former U.S. Army Ranger, entered the Democratic primary in April.
The National Republican Campaign Committee has taken notice. That group launched online ads last week targeting Democrats, including Strouse. The NRCC emailed reporters on Monday, citing "Kevin Strouse's Obamacare problem." That problem: Strouse's web site currently does not list his position on the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare.
The DCCC last week named Strouse one of its "Jumpstart" candidates and posted an online video today, hoping to stir early interest in candidates taking on Republican incumbents for the U.S. House.
