What does Gov. Corbett and his puppies have to hide?

Gov . Corbett promised transparency in his administration while campaigning last year but failed the test this week when he released the names – Harry and Penny – for his new Airedale terrier puppies.

Gov . Corbett promised transparency in his administration while campaigning last year but failed the test this week when he released the names – Harry and Penny – for his new Airedale terrier puppies.

The names were chosen from 548 submissions from children age 12 or under.  The names are short for Harrisburg and Pennsylvania.

We were pulling for "Frick" and "Frack" since hydraulic fracturing to drill for natural gas in the Marcellus Shale region has been in the news lately. And we wondered what other names had been suggested for the pups.

Corbett's press office, which released a two-page, 493-word press release about the selection of the puppy names, responded this way when we asked for all the submissions: "Sorry, we are not able to release the list of puppy names submitted by Pennsylvania's children."
