Iguodala out until Jan. 10

The 76ers announced this morning from Los Angeles that swingman Andre Iguodala would miss the next five games because of his right Achilles tendinitis. Iguodala, who had been listed as day-to-day, missed the team's last two games against the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns.

Sixers coach Doug Collins has decided to give Iguodala extended rest to heal the tendinitis, which has been a lingering issue for Iguodala all season. Iguodala's next scheduled on-court activity is Jan. 10. He will not play tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers.

More later from the Staples Center. This news means an extended opportunity for rookie Evan Turner.
