Student shot at Widener University

A student was shot at Widener University tonight, school officials said.

The incident occurred about 8:40 p.m. tonight in the area around the Schwartz Athletic Center, according to a spokesperson for the Campus Safety office. A post on the school's website confirmed that the male victim is a student.

He was taken to Crozier Chester Medical Center, where he is undergoing treatment, the post said. There is no information available on his condition.

The suspect is still at large, according to the school.
