A 3-year-old boy was hospitalized this morning after a gunman shot up a house in Grays Ferry, hitting the toddler and a man inside, police said.

A 3-year-old boy was hospitalized this morning after a gunman shot up a house in Grays Ferry, hitting the toddler and a man inside, police said.

The incident happened at 11:38 a.m. today on Newkirk Street near Wharton, said Officer Tanya Little, a police spokeswoman. The gunman shot into a house there, hitting a 43-year-old man in the right leg, and a 3-year-old boy in the right thigh, Little said. The man remained in stable condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, while paramedics rushed the baby to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he remains in stable condition.
