The boyfriend of a Queen Village woman gunned down this week turned himself in to police yesterday to face murder charges.

Marcus R. Johnson, 32, who lived in the Courtyard Apartments on 5th Street near Washington Avenue, is accused of shooting his live-in girlfriend Nekeisha Eugene, 32, in her face and left arm just after 10 p.m. Monday, said Officer Christine O'Brien, a police spokeswoman. Eugene died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

Police responding to reports of gunfire found a chaotic scene in the couple's home Monday: smashed furniture, overturned TVs and other signs of a violent struggle, police said. A semi-automatic pistol and six spent shell casings were found inches away from the woman, indicating she had been shot at point-blank range. Just before the shooting, a 12-year-old boy who lived there had been sent around the corner to a relative's home, a source said.

Johnson is being held without bail pending an Oct. 1 preliminary hearing, according to court records.
