Cops: Death of Wilmington man found in motel lot "suspicious"

A Wilmington man was found dead in the parking lot of a Wilmington motel this morning, and police have labeled it a "suspicious" death.

The 47-year-old man, whose name wasn't released, appeared to have chest injuries when he was found about 7 a.m. in the lot of the Fairview Inn, at 1051 S. Market St., according to the Delaware State Police. He died shortly after paramedics took him to Christiana Hospital, according to the state police. The Medical Examiner will do an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

UPDATE, 8:55 a.m. Thursday: The Medical Examiner's Office ruled this death a homicide. State police identified the victim as Troy M. Taylor, 47, of Wilmington.
