Cops: Man slain in W. Philly

A man was gunned down in West Philly tonight, slain on a porch on a cold, bitter night.

Just after 9 p.m., officers responding to reports of a shooting found the victim, 26, shot multiple times in the chest and lying on the front porch of a home on Baltimore Avenue near 56th Street, police said.

The officers took him to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was pronounced dead about 15 minutes later.

There is no information available on a suspect or motive.
