Cops: Man slain in broad-daylight shooting

A man was gunned down in broad daylight today, slain on a quiet residential block in East Oak Lane.

About 1:18 p.m., officers responding to a report of gunshots found a 28-year-old man collapsed in between two parked cars on Fairhill Street near 66th Avenue, police said.

He had been shot in the face and chest, and was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1:34 p.m.

There was no information available on a motive, but a police source said a number of unidentified pills were recovered at the scene, indicating a possible drug connection.

A handgun was also recovered near the victim's body. It's unclear if that was the weapon used in the attack.

Police are continuing to investigate the case.
