Police are searching for suspects in connection with a string of armed robberies at Radio Shack stores in Chestnut Hill, Wynnefield Heights and Olney between Dec. 19 and Wednesday evening.

Around 9 p.m. on Dec. 19, two men walked into a store on City Avenue near Conshohocken State Road brandishing handguns, police said.

The men forced employees to the back of the store, tied them up and snatched various electronics before fleeing the scene on foot, police said.

The suspects were described as two black men. One was in his 20s, who is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 190 pounds. He was wearing a blue Nike jacket with white stripes on the sleeves and a Nike logo on the back.

Police said the second suspect is in his 40s, is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs about 160 pounds and has a full beard that appeared to be reddish-brown in color. He was wearing jeans, a black coat and a multicolored knit cap.

A Radio Shack in Chestnut Hill, on Crittenden Street near Mermaid Lane, was robbed in a similar fashion Monday night police said.

Two men brandishing handguns forced employees to the back of the store around 9 p.m. They put televisions, laptop computers and GPS devices into trash bags, and fled the scene by climbing through a window in the rear of the store.

The suspects fit the description of the men involved in the Dec. 19 robbery.

Just before 6 p.m. Wednesday evening, a surveillance camera recorded a man brandishing a handgun and demanding money from the register at a Radio Shack on Olney Avenue near Front Street.

The description of the suspect in this robbery fit the description of the bearded man who was involved in the first two robberies.

Police posted surveillance footage of the incidents online in hopes that help from the public will lead to an arrest.
