Cops hauled 77 hydroponic pot plants out of an old factory building in Frankford Wednesday night in a more than $1.5 million drug bust.
Police said the entire third floor of the building, set back down a gritty driveway off Unity Street near Penn, housed the grow operation. When Narcotics Field Unit cops busted it Wednesday night, police said, they found the plants plus a few hundred pills.
Police sources said the marijuana seized has a high THC content and is valued on the street around $1,400 per quarter-pound, or $350 an ounce. Average weed, they said, usually runs between $900 and $1,200 per quarter-pound.
Three men and a woman were arrested in connection with the bust, police said. They were awaiting charges late Wednesday night.
