On Thursday, a man stabbed Robert Brokenborough, 57, of 33rd Street near Spring Garden in Mantua, several times in his chest and neck in a kitchen in a home on Summer Street near 32nd in Powelton, said Officer Christine O'Brien, a police spokeswoman. Paramedics declared him dead on the scene just after 8 p.m. A 59-year-old man who lived in the house, whose name hasn't been released yet, has been arrested. Two women at the home told police that the two men got into an argument, a heated spat that escalated into the fatal stabbing. It's unclear what the argument was over. Police recovered a 6-inch folding knife that they believed was used in the attack.

Friday, someone gunned down Turhan Richardson, 28, of Seventh Street near 67th Avenue in East Oak Lane, just after 1:15 p.m. Friday on Fairhill Street near 66th Avenue, O'Brien said. He died at Albert Einstein Medical Center about 15 minutes later. Investigators found several unidentified pills at the scene and are eyeing drugs as a possible motive. Police have no suspects.

Early yesterday, someone shot Derroll Smith, 26, of 56th Street near Thomas Avenue in Kingsessing, outside Cousin Danny's Exotic Heaven at 52nd and Delancy streets in West Philadelphia. Smith died at 8:19 a.m. at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Two other men, ages 47 and 24, caught bullets but survived. Police reported no suspects. An argument sparked the gunfire, O'Brien said.

And last night, someone gunned down Michael Davis, 57, of Bloyd Street near Locust Avenue ub East Germantown, at Boyer Street and Locust Avenue just after 8 p.m. Davis was shot in the head; paramedics declared him dead at the scene. Police reported no motive or suspects.
